In 2003, the philanthropic arm of LBS Publications (d/b/a Onyx Magazine) was formed under the name LBS Foundation Incorporated for the purpose of making a more meaningful impact in its giving back to the community.
The thrust of the Foundation is education and health initiatives. In the health category, our major focus is sickle cell disease, a genetic blood disorder found predominantly among African Americans and other people of color. It is frequently the cause of death among children.
